East Edinburgh
In the East of Edinburgh, artists Jana and Rory may be living in an old driving test centre, but they have ambitions for something bigger and less freezing to live in every winter. They want to replace the test centre with a sleek contemporary slipped box house with upside down living to capture a view of the sea - and all on a minimal budget.
Once they demolish the old 60s prefab, their home for the past six years, they move into a caravan next to site with their two small children. It's then that events start to turn against them. As the years roll by, distractions, delays, money problems and constant struggle all become part of an epic mission. And in the end will they be left with the house they’ve always dreamt of? They say all good things come to those who wait, but just how long should that wait really be?
